A ghost story - a true one!
"Rondo Arabesque". I wrote it during my stay as an artist in residence at Sjøbygda Kunstnarhus right after I performed at its Sjøbygda Festival in 2011 in Trondheim, Norway. Sjøbygda Kunstnarhus used to be an old elementary school, "Eggaodden Skole", built in the late 19th century. And I tell you, some of the pupils from the 19th century were still there. Doing all sorts of pranks while I was working. Quite fun, but also a bit scary. The old school is located in the middle of nowhere in the deep forests of Trondheim, near a big lake. I was too scared to sleep there at nights, so I drove into the town center after work, then drove back into the old school again in the morning and started working. The opening theme, "the ghost theme", was given to me by the pupils from the 19th century. As if they were guideing my fingers in the direction they wanted. Very wierd feeling. After I finished the rest of the piece, the pranks stopped. The recording is from my atelier, Café de Concert, in Oslo. I recorded it with my iPhone. For some reason the file got a bit dammaged...looks a bit spooky to me. Probaly the pupils at it again...So I decided to upload the file anyway.
The x-file.
